In the story, the protagonist is a young girl Kara, who sails with a group of people on a raft in the middle of a raging ocean. She struggles with the strong ocean wind, pulls the sails, but still lags behind the rest.

Trying to draw attention to herself by screaming and waving her arms, Kara notices that a wave of water begins to rise. At this moment, an unidentified sea monster grows in front of her in a huge wall. Shocked with horror, Kara lets go of the sailing rope, and the monster lowers its huge tentacle onto the poor thing, thereby covering Kara with a huge wave and plunging it under the surface.

The next moment of the game takes place in Kara's small journey from darkness to light in the otherworldly dimension. Having passed it, she wakes up on the shore of an unfamiliar island. Here she begins her adventure to try to return home.

While exploring the island, the girl finds simple and useful objects in the form of stones, wood and grass, from which she collects all sorts of useful objects and weapons, such as an ax, a pickaxe, a sling, a bow and many others. When Kara cannot get something or interact with something, then she receives a drawing of the necessary item with a list of materials for it. With the help of these tools and weapons, Kara makes a fire, digs holes for animals, hunts and gets the necessary items.

But the most important thing that she needs to build is a raft, which she will gradually modernize and improve in order to explore other adjacent islands. After all, resources and food in Windbound tend to run out. On the path of a brave girl to salvation, all kinds of obstacles appear in the form of a constant ocean storm, as well as quests in which she will climb mountains, activating magic crystals, and also hunt huge creatures called powerfulhorns or the little ancestors of the modern rabbit - blinks.

Sailing from island to island, Kara is constantly improving her knowledge and skills, studying the local flora and fauna and solving mysterious riddles associated with some ancient prophecy. Courageously enduring all hardships and difficulties, she boldly goes to her most important goal - to return home to her tribe. Screenshots
