The player will visit small towns, shoot in the forests and capture outposts on the hills, where there are houses that do not resemble the buildings of the previous parts of the series.

Unlike the fourth part, now the player must create his character himself, and the main character does not say a word. The choice of gender and appearance, clothing and skin color is possible.

Multiplayer mode has been added. It became possible to play the game in co-op, thanks to which fun and well-coordinated teamwork can be ensured. Moreover, just like with NPCs, users can raise each other and save.

To access the battle with the antagonists, of whom there are 4, you need to achieve a certain level of reputation by completing tasks, capturing outposts, and so on. The boss battles are different here: somewhere you have to arrange a sniper fight, and somewhere you have to quickly attack at a certain time, since one of the battles can be in the form of a hallucination of the main character.

The plot of Far Cry 5 tells how a sect appeared in the state of Montana - the Gate of Eden. At the head is a false prophet - Joseph Sid. Upon learning of this, the sheriff and several of his deputies from the United States head to Hope County to stop the villain. But when they arrive and arrest the antagonist, the latter says that God will not let him be taken away. But in fact - the sectarians shoot down a helicopter, after which they save their leader and pursue the survivors, including the main character. When everyone is far from each other, the heroes will have to assemble a squad to fight the false prophet and end the activities of the Gates of Eden.
