The plot continues the story of the previous series. The main character remains the Master Detective. After the last events, green energy merged into the time stream and changed past events. This threatens not only the hero personally, but the entire universe. In addition, she brought the Archivist back to life, and for the sake of saving the world, he completely forgets about the disagreements with the Detective and unites with him.

To remedy the situation, they decide to use the time machine and embark on four of the most high-profile investigations: Ravenharst, Carnival of Fate, Strike of the Clock and the Black Veil to put everything back in place and find the symbols of time.

At the center of the gameplay, as always, is the search for things hidden on the screen and solving ingenious puzzles. After completing each puzzle, the player returns to his "Crime Computer", where he solves subsequent puzzles to collect evidence and help identify the thief.

A limited amount of time is given to complete each puzzle. If he fails, he must start over with a completely new script. The whole process is competently woven into the narrative and does not stand out from the general style. The atmosphere is a good mix of fiction and paranormal activity with a rich backstory.
