From the first launch, the project draws in with its intriguing story and high-quality videos. It can be seen that the creators devoted a lot of time and money to this aspect.

The gameplay is familiar to veterans of classic RTS. The player rebuilds a base on the map, defends it and destroys enemy bases. But the game's emphasis on the plot makes its adjustments to the process, so the tasks are full of their diversity. In the first mission, you have to get away from the enemy by car, in the other, free the prisoners or capture control points. Each level has a main goal and several side goals, the completion of which will greatly facilitate the passage.

The creation of a strongpoint in Halo Wars 2 takes place in designated areas. Expanding the territory is possible only by taking it away from the enemy. To support the troops, outposts are created in which units can be recruited. There are only two resources - energy and supplies. No special units are required to collect them. The army, both its own and the enemy's, is replete with diversity. Here both futuristic tanks, jeeps and aircraft converge, as well as huge robots.

There are two modes in multiplayer. Blitz combines RTS and card game. Troops are replenished through the use of cards, each of which is responsible for a certain type of soldiers or equipment. Their use is spent energy, which is not so easy to get.
