Sudden Strike 4 review

This project features a rare combination of external effects of current real-time strategies and historically accurate and correct wargame rules. For such a property, you need to thank the game system of the entire series, which allows you to achieve victories using non-linear tactics that provide many opportunities, in particular the range of interactions of the army with the surrounding landscape.

Sudden Strike 4 simulates the properties of motorized infantry and armored vehicles on the battlefield. The single player mode offers three campaigns, each with seven missions on the side of the Wehrmacht, the US Army, the British Army, and the Red Army. Each of the missions in different campaigns is based on real battles of World War II. For example, in the German campaign, the player leads the Wehrmacht in Operation Barbarossa, Battle of Stalingrad, Operation Citadel, and during the Ardennes Offensive. The attack on Poland serves as a teaching tool and is a prelude to the German campaign.

The mechanics of the game are largely based on the gameplay of the previous parts, where the emphasis was placed on managing both units and each individual unit, as well as the unique properties and capabilities of units. Instead of building and collecting resources, players will have to manage infantry, tanks, artillery and aircraft.

The player takes control of mechanized units, where you can select, group, place and command as you please. The opposing armed forces must be detected and withdrawn to the range, for which the warring armies must at least move towards each other. Artillery shelling is also possible out of sight.
