Barotrauma is an RPG game developed by Undertow Games. The plot of Barotrauma takes place in the distant future on a submarine traveling the oceans of Europa, one of Jupiter's moons. Arriving on Jupiter, people saw that its surface is covered with ice and only in the ocean can life exist.

At the beginning of each game, the player receives a task, the completion of which makes it possible to open access to specialized traits and equipment. Quests may include delivering cargo from one outpost to another, hunting hostile underwater animals, or exploring alien artifacts. After completing the main task, the player can act at his own discretion, he can also complete small additional goals provided by the game itself.
There are a variety of dangers to watch out for that endanger the sailing of a submarine, these include: hostile fauna, outbreaks of parasites, and traitors under the player's control.

Lack of player awareness can be a source of disaster, for example, improper maintenance of shipboard equipment (nuclear reactors or oxygen generators) can cause the submarine to malfunction. If damage occurs to the hull of the submarine, the water will begin to flood the ship, which leads to damage to the structure of the submarine and greatly complicates the player's movement. Lacking suitable equipment, a player who finds himself in a segment of a submarine filled with water can die from lack of air or be crushed by barotrauma in places with high water pressure.
