Second Sight

Second Sight is another project of the Free Radical Design studio, which became famous mainly thanks to the TimeSplitters series and the hit GoldenEye 007. Unlike the aforementioned projects, the action of the game does not have to be constantly observed in the first person, because the player can at any time switch to the view from third. Fans of the TimeSplitters series will certainly be interested in the fact that the game uses a very similar control model for the protagonist.

Second Sight review

The game begins in a heavily guarded medical complex that conducts forbidden research on humans. The follower is showing signs of amnesia as he does not remember anything from the past. However, the main character discovers that he is endowed with many supernatural powers. He tries to get out of the complex and reveal the secret of his past. It should be added that thanks to the improved controls, the player can simultaneously move the character and use the newly acquired abilities.

As the game progresses, the controlled character acquires new skills and develops existing ones. The power indicator plays an important role in Second Sight, as it informs how much energy is left to use the acquired skills. If the permissible value is exceeded, the main character loses orientation for a few seconds, which makes him vulnerable to enemy attacks.

The list of available abilities includes: healing, where you need to stay still; capture of other people's bodies, thanks to which you can, for example, unlock an inaccessible door; psychokinetic blow, from which the enemy overturns and loses consciousness for a few seconds; telekinesis allows the player to lift most objects into the air and, for example, throw them at enemies; the projection displays its own image in order to confuse the enemy; psychokinetic impulse immobilizes all enemies in the area; enchanting the selected enemy - the main character becomes invisible for the selected targets.

From time to time, the memory of the protagonist of Second Sight flashes events that happened in the past. Interestingly, they are fully interactive and allow you to learn more about important past events. It is thanks to these visions that the story of the protagonist is revealed.

The visual setting of the game focuses primarily on the effective display of the skills used. The player explores various military bases, laboratories, although some stages take place in the open air. The interactive destructible environment also makes the project stand out. Screenshots
